Information handling

It is the aim of the practice to ensure safe use and transfer of all personal confidential information collected and recorded (whether on a computer or on paper) in accordance with general legal requirements, such as the Data Protection Act 1998 and the common law duty of confidence, and the Deneral Dental Council codes of conduct. These information handling procedures are used to protect personal information and to prevent its inappropriate disclosure either by accident or design, whilst in use in the practice or during transfer.

Your rights to information

The Freedon Of Information Act 2000 recognises that members of the public have the right to know how the public services are organised and run, how much they cost and how the decisions are made.

The Dental Practice is obliged to respond to requests about information that it holds, and is recorded in any format and it will create a right of access to such information. These rights are subject to some exemptions which have to be taken into consideration before deciding what information it can release.

Under the Data Protection Act 1998, you are also entitled to access your dental records or any other personal information held about you and you can contact the Practice Manager to do this.

Raising a concern

If you have any concerns about your experience at the practice and wish to make a complaint you may contact our Practce Manager who handles all patient complaints.

The Principals oversee all complaints.

Every effort will be made to resolve any concerns about your experience at the practice in a caring and sensitive way. If you are not satisfied with the response you receive you can contact the relevant bodies.
